CASCINA GILLI

CASCINA GILLI

Set in the quiet hills of Monferrato, Cascina Gilli embodies a refined and authentic vision of Piedmontese winemaking. With a deep commitment to indigenous varieties, sustainable practices, and terroir expression, the estate crafts wines of elegance, character, and understated sophistication.

Cascina Gilli is a historic winery in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in the Monferrato area of Piedmont, dedicated to preserving and elevating indigenous grape varieties. Founded in 1983, the estate has built its identity around native vines such as Freisa and Malvasia di Schierano, cultivating approximately 11 hectares of vineyards across the clay-rich hills of the Marne di Sant’Agata.

Rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation, Cascina Gilli represents a distinctive and independent expression of Monferrato. The estate has played a key role in reviving lesser-known local varieties, transforming them into refined, contemporary wines while preserving the authenticity and heritage of the region.

Today, under the leadership of Paolo Vergnano and a new generation team, Cascina Gilli continues to evolve with a clear focus on terroir and sustainability. The winery combines research, careful vineyard management, and respect for biodiversity, supported by sustainable practices recognized through environmental certifications.

The result is a portfolio that reflects the true character of Piedmont’s hidden landscapes. From the elegant Freisa d’Asti to the aromatic Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco, along with Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Bonarda, Cascina Gilli wines express freshness, identity, and a deep connection to their origin.
